St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis now require a visa to enter Canada. The new visa requirement came into effect Saturday November 22 and was announced on the website of the Canadian Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago. St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): There have been increases in some cases of child abuse and neglect, according to statistics from the probation and child protection services. Probation Officer Gerald Connor on WINN FM’s Voices program Thursday disclosed that there were 82 cases of neglect last year. As of October 2014 there have 98 cases. There were 25 cases of emotional abuse last year and 10 cases so far this year. St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): This week, Global Entrepreneurship Week was observed with a number of activities this week in St. Kitts and Nevis with the involvement of local young businessman Ervin Welsh of Beyond Timeless.  Mr. Welsh listed the activities done this week to observe Entrepreneurship week, including visiting some of the nation’s schools. Entrepreneurs visited these schools to speak to the students about entrepreneurship. St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The bursting colors in the sky and the sounds of fireworks in Basseterre Friday evening marked the official opening of the 2014-2015 Carnival season. The opening, which took place behind the National Museum, featured a preview of the events that will comprise the carnival celebrations, including the National Carnival Senior Queen pageant and the Haynes Smith Talented Teen.  Minister of Culture Marcella Liburd declared carnival officially open and encouraged patrons to come out and support the events.
