St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN):  Less than three weeks after Nevis recorded the nation’s first homicide for the year, another young man was shot dead on the island. Reports are that Javon Bartlette, also known as “Cruel Intentions,” of Bath Village was gunned down while walking to a shop in Upper Bath on Thursday night.  He died on the scene. WINN FM understands that Bartlette, a former Four Seasons employee, had one son. Interim Injunction Granted Barring Use of New Boundaries, Pending an Appeal

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN):  The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court has granted an interim injunction barring any action from being taken on new constituency boundaries, pending an appeal of a High Court ruling on Tuesday.  That ruling by High Court Justice Marlene Carter found that the signing of the proclamation changing boundaries and its subsequent gazetting on January 16th was in order.  She also overturned another injunction blocking use of the new boundaries pending a judicial review.   The interim injunction granted by the Appeal Court on Thursday, is now in place pending that appeal which is scheduled for February 9th....

St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Foreign Affairs Minister Patrice Nisbett described it as the first time he was addressing a Labour Party political meeting in Basseterre. Mr Nisbett spoke at Tuesday’s rally where the prime minister announced the election date. Speaking to the alliance between Labour and the Nevis Island Administration announced recently, Patrice Nisbett said he was certain of retaining constituency number 11 for the Nevis Reformation Party and Labour. Minister Nisbett also praised the leadership of Prime Minister Denzil Douglas. St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The two St. Kitts fishermen who were rescued from sea by law enforcement officials from St. Eustatius should return to the island by Friday the latest, according to the St. Eustatius police. Three fishermen from St. Kitts while at sea Monday encountered difficulties and their boat capsized. One of those fishermen Alton French from Saddlers drowned. The other two fishermen Oscar Finch and Kenneth Dominique were rescued and were in the hospital in St. Eustatius. They have since been released.
