St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Caribbean reparations effort seems to be gaining traction following a presentation to the British Parliament by Caribbean historian, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles.  On July 16th, Sir Hilary, Chairman of the CARICOM Reparations Commission, took the case for reparations for slavery to the Parliament arguing that, not only were formerly enslaved people not compensated, they were cruelly required to pay for their emancipation. St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): LIAT is acknowledging that newly launched Phoenix Airways represents competition for the regional airline. Barbados-based LIAT Chairman Jean Holder tells WINN FM that he is aware that the St Kitts-based Phoenix began flight operations on July 16. “Every airline flying on the same route with LIAT is competition,” Holder said. “LIAT has never has far as I know, certainly on my level or level of a CEO sought to stop anybody one flying on the routes nor in fact can they. St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Basseterre High School (BHS) is on track to reopen its doors to its students in September at the start of the new school year, according to Chief Medical Officer Dr Patrick Martin.  The school was closed following renewed concerns about contamination affecting both students and teachers.
