St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Operation Rescue’s Dwyer Astaphan has taken aim at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, accusing it of largely ignoring the motion of no confidence stalemate in the country. The Chamber has in the past issued statements on the matter. However according to Mr. Astaphan, they have not gone far enough. St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Efforts to increase the existing minimum wage of EC$8 per hour are progressing well, according to Labour Minister Patrice Nisbett. The minister gave parliament an update on that matter Monday, following a recent consultation which examined the issue. Minister Nisbett said the minimum wage had become the subject of a major policy review and that members of an advisory committee to deal with it had already been identified. St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Telecommunications company Cable and Wireless announced Tuesday that it’s about to make a significant investment in the region. Miami-based Chief Executive Officer of the company, Phil Bentley, disclosed that Cable and Wireless will be making a US$ 1 billion investment in the Caribbean and Central America over the next three years.  Parent company Cable and Wireless intends investing some ten million dollars of those funds in Lime St Kitts and Nevis, according to CEO Bentley. The company, which admits it is no longer a global player, says it is also seeking a bigger slice of the market...

  St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The federation’s health officials say they are continuing to keep a close watch on the deadly Ebola outbreak on the African continent. Those assurances were given in parliament by Health Minister Marcella Liburd Monday. She indicated that her ministry has stepped up surveillance at the RLB International Airport, as a precautionary measure.
